Psychiatrist, Psychoanalyst. Member of Psike Istanbul and International Psychoanalysis Association. She worked at various committees at Psike Istanbul, including the Board of Directors. She is the former Chairman of Psike Istanbul Scientific Committee and Organizing Committee.
She completed her residency training as a psychiatrist at Bakirkoy Hospital for Psychiatric and Neurological Disorders and worked there for fifteen years.
She currently teaches at Psike Istanbul and works as a private practitioner at her office. .
An Enriching I nternal and External Adventure
When Vamık Volkan crossed paths with a group of young psychiatrists who were running from one place to another in curiosity in the nineties, when psychoanalysis barely existed in Turkey, psychoanalysis took on a new meaning for them.
I will try to tell the story of the formation of the Vamık Volkan working group, the merging of the group with other people and groups who are also interested in psychoanalysis and who have worked hard throughout the years, and how Psike Istanbul has taken root in its twentieth year from where I stand, with some psychoanalytic concepts.
