Psychoanalysis: One Theory One Master is once again bringing together one deceased and one contemporary master of psychoanalysis. We will have the opportunity to learn about Herbert Rosenfeld, one of the most important psychoanalysts in history who has shaped psychoanalytic theory with his work on psychosis from David Rosenfeld, one of the contemporary masters of psychoanalysis.
David Rosenfeld, who has received extensive supervision from Herbert Rosenfled, will also present a case study reflecting his own prolific theoretical and clinical experience. The second part of the conference will feature a the film titled I am a real kid now, depicting step by step the treatment of Benjamin, a child diagnosed with autism by D. Rosenfeld. The final session of the conference will be devoted to a discussion of the film and Q&A.

Psychoanalysis: One Theory, One Master HERBERT ROSENFELD – DAVID ROSENFELD
David Rosenfeld from Argentina is one of the pioneers of South American psychoanalysis. He has made significant contribution to the treatment of psychosis and addiction through a psychoanalytic approach. His Kleinian approach to these pathologies has proposed innovation and technical adaptations in practice.
Traces of self-psychology and French psychoanalysis are evident in D. Rosenfeld’s theory and technique. He has made a successful synthesis of all these diverse theoretical influences. He also has worked in the sphere of philosophy and endeavored to combine Kleinian theory with Jean Paul Sartre’s philosophical approach. In this conference, David Rosenfeld will explore the phenomena of schizophrenia, psychotic transference, transference psychosis, challenges of countertransference in working with schizophrenia, destructive narcissism, hypochondria, envy, interpretation and impasse, substance addiction, acting out in Herbert Rosenfeld’s work through clinical examples.
