Yavuz Erten

Yavuz ERTEN is a psychoanalyst and clinical psychologist. In 1987, he graduated from the psychology department of Boğaziçi University. In 1989, he completed his master’s degree in clinical psychology at the same university. Between 1998 and 2003, he completed the Contemporary Psychoanalysis training at the National Institute of Psychotherapies (NIP) in New York. Between 2004-2009, he completed his psychoanalytic training at the International Psychoanalytic Association (IPA) and became a psychoanalyst. In 2015, he was authorised by IPA as a Training and Supervision analyst. He is a member of the Intemational Psychoanalytic Association (IPA) and Psike Istanbul. He works at İçgörü Psychotherapy Centre. He is one of the founders of Psike Istanbul Psychoanalytic Association and is a past chairman of the board of directors of this association. He is currently the chair of the Scientific Committee of Psike Istanbul. He has a book, titled Karanlık Odadaki Suretler (2010), which consists of his writings on psychoanalysis. He is the co-author with Cahit Ardalı of the book Psikanalizden Dinamik Psikoterapilere (1999) Psikanalizin Öteki Yüzü: Heinz Kohut (2003) and Bilim ve Felsefe Açısından Ruhsallık Bilgileri (2006). He has many articles published in various journals. He also has a book of poetry entitled Yoga Yapabilen Bir Tekir (1993). Yavuz Erten is a member of the editorial board of Suret magazine.
