PSYCHOANALYTIC VIEWS 3 : LOST OBJECT<\/div>\n
Psyche evolves from the object that does not exist there, it evolves from absence. In essence, isn\u2019t psychoanalysis an experience of the absence itself? Psychoanalysts have proposed that the reason for this experience of absence is the lost object. Experiences which enable the establishment of subjectivity, i.e. separation, mourning, castration anxiety, are representations of the lost object detected in the clinical setting. When we say \u201crepresentation\u201d, aren\u2019t we fundamentally talking about the \u201cthing\u201d that we have lost? Can\u2019t we consider our representations, just like psychoanalytic theories, an effort to reunite with our objects which no-longer-exist-there?<\/p>\n

On October 6th-7th, 2007, at the third annual Psychoanalytic Views, adult and child psychoanalysts and psychoanalytic candidates will be sharing their clinical experiences and theoretical questions by discussing the theme of Lost Object from different angles.<\/p>\n
