SUMMARY:Psychoanalysis: One Theory\, One Master - Donald MELTZER - Bianca LECHAVELIER (2017)
DESCRIPTION:“MEETING WITH DONALD MELTZER IN PARIS AND IN LONDON\, AND AFTER”  \n\nBianca Lechevalier \nFull Day Conference \nJanuary 8th\, 2017 Sunday \nTime: 10:00-16:30 \nVenue:  ITU Social Facilities-Macka Campus\, Istanbul \nParticipation Certificates will be provided. \nThis year\, in “Psychoanalysis: One Theory\, One Master”\, Psike Istanbul is bringing together Donald Meltzer and Bianca Lechevalier. We are going to hear the authentic contributions of one of the masters of psychoanalysis\, child and adolescent psychoanalyst Donald Meltzer\, from Bianca Lechevalier\, one of the important names of modern-day psychoanalysis who had had the chance to work with him. \nMeeting with Donald Meltzer in Paris and in London\, and After \n“In 1954\, upon completion of his medical and psychiatry specialty trainings in New York\, Donald Meltzer settled in London. He completed his psychoanalytic training in London with M. Klein\, W.R. Bion\, R. Money-Kyrle and E. Bick. Together with his wife Martha Harris\, he provided trainings in Tavistock Clinic and in London Psychoanalytic Association. Throughout the entire world\, he gave numerous lectures. I had the chances to host him in Paris beginning from 1978\, and to give numerous case presentations to him as part of the seminars hold by GERPEN (Psychoanalytic Training and Research Group for Child and Infant Development) between the years of 1974 and 2002. Meltzer\, in the face of lack of meaning of psychotic anxieties\, in a meticulous search for meaning\, provided us the opportunity to jointly experience the field in which Beauty and Truth are explored. \nIn the weekends we met to study\, we were hearing Meltzer linking theory and clinic in a totally new way and witnessing his theory being embroidered like lace in front of our eyes. Thus\, we saw this great theorist who is among of the most creative psychoanalysts of twenty centuries conceiving and engraving one after another important concepts such as “upsetting” (le démentélement)\, “peristome”\, “aesthetic conflict”\, “clustrum”\, “sadomasochism and tyranny” in a theory on which the “lively world of dream” leaves its mark. \nThe deep gratitude I bear toward him has led me to try to convey to you this enthusiastic atmosphere which constituted the source of the theory.” \nBianca Lechevalier \nPROGRAM \n10.00-11.00 Conference \n11.00-11.30 Coffee Break \n11.30-12.30 Discussion \n12.30-14.00 Lunch \n14.00-16.30 Case Study \n\nBianca Lechevalier is an infant\, adolescent and adult psychoanalyst and psychiatrist.
